| Our Bichons are members of the family! |
|
Welcome !
As a prospective Bichon owner, you have taken an important first step in finding the perfect companion...learning as much as possible about the Bichon Frise. At Rosegate Kennel, we have been afficianados of the breed for many years, and we lovingly and selectively breed top-quality Bichon Frises for your family to love and enjoy.
The Bichon Frise makes an ideal family pet and companion. They are hypoallergenic, non-shedding, intelligent, sweet-natured, amusing and adorable! Because these merry little clowns crave and deserve so much attention, we have chosen to sell our puppies as pets only. This means that your pet will be eligible for registration through the American Kennel Club when you provide proof of its spay or neuter. This is our commitment to ensuring that every puppy we place will enjoy the life of a cherished family pet.
Rosegate Bichon Frise is located in central Arkansas. Our adult dogs are free to run and play in a big, tree-shaded yard, and have a climate controlled kennel they call home. The have access to our home, pool and garden. They are appreciated by our family for their individuality, and live the "dogs life" that we would all like to enjoy! We encourage you to visit us and meet the dam, sire, and littermates of your potential pet.

The Bichon Frises' temperament is very low-key, and accepting of strangers, cats, and children. They acclimate well into homes where there are other pets. Bichons love to ride in the car or boat, take a leisurely walk, and curl up on the sofa for a nap. They are very attentive to their owners, and will wait patiently on the bathroom floor, as you take your morning shower. On a 100 degree day, a Bichon will choose to sit with you as you clean out the garage instead of retiring inside where it's much more comfortable. When you are loved by a Bichon, you truly have found a friend for life! Unlike some small breeds, Bichons don't usually become possessive toward one family member, and seem to prefer being everyone's favorite. This makes them very popular with guests, and owners who have lots of visitors to their homes. Although a Bichon will bark to alert you that someone is at the door or in the yard, they are not "yappy", nervous, or shrill.

| ...our pups get lots of love... |
|
Socialization of young puppies with people is a very important factor in their early development which will improve the dogs' disposition and ability to bond with their human companions as they develop into adulthood. As a prospective Bichon owner, you should insist that your pup has been lovingly raised around people and other animals. Our Bichons are raised around children and a long-suffering Siamese cat, and are very well-socialized to family life and other animals by the time they reach two months of age. They are raised in our living room, and are well on their way to being pad trained when they are adopted by their new families.
|
Our puppies get lots of time to snuggle, play, and exercise during their first two months. The Bichon is an inherantly social and intelligent breed, and with optimal early stimulation, they become very adept at entertaining their owners with their antics! Each puppy is uniquely beguiling, and we truly miss them when they leave for their new homes. We enjoy hearing from our "puppy-in-laws" , and have devoted a special section of this site to our featured Bichon family of the month.
